Albany

In the northwestern corner of Alameda County, Albany borders the Cities of Richmond, El Cerrito and Berkeley. Mostly flat terrain, the city’s approximately 16,450 residents and enjoy small-town ambience in the heart of a major metropolitan area. Home to Golden Gate Fields, one of the largest thoroughbred racetracks in the United States, and Solano Avenue, a pedestrian-oriented commercial district, Albany draws in many visitors to its regional attractions.

Additionally, Albany’s environmental work to preserve the natural habitat of the Albany Mudflats, make alternative transportation more accessible through San Francisco Bay Trail, and an ongoing creek restoration program hopes to ensure access to wildlife and the beauty of the bay area for future generations.
