Ashland

With a population of approximately 20,000, Ashland is an unincorporated community nestled between Hayward and San Leandro. It is a bedroom community with densely populated housing.  Children in Ashland attend schools in the San Lorenzo Unified School District. This diverse community with a large Latino population is governed by the County of Alameda at the local level and Congressional District 9 at the federal level. Ashland Community Center is a large and prominent organization that serves the neighborhood by teaching English classes, computer skills, and financial literacy.
