Barbara Lee Releases Statement on Passing of Rep. John Murtha

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) released the following statement on the passing of Congressman John Murtha of Pennsylvania.

“The people of Pennsylvania and this entire country have lost a good and faithful servant today with the passing on Congressman John Murtha.

“A veteran of the Vietnam War, Congressman Murtha served this country courageously and was a staunch advocate for our men and women in uniform. In the House of Representatives he was a true leader and was always willing to share a word of wisdom.

“He was a dear colleague and friend. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife Joyce and the entire Murtha family at this time.”
