Washington D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-09) applauded President Barack Obama on his appointment of David Duong to serve on the board of directors of the Vietnam Education Foundation.

The Vietnam Education Foundation is an independent federal agency whose mission is to strengthen the U.S.-Vietnam bilateral relationship through educational exchanges in science and technology.

The Congresswoman issued the following statement regarding David Duong’s appointment:

“I commend President Obama’s decision to appoint David Duong to the board of directors of the Vietnam Education Foundation,” Congresswoman Lee said. “David has been an innovative leader in the Oakland business community for years. Despite his many professional responsibilities, David has remained an active member of the community, serving on various commissions and boards over the years and remaining active in various local charities and job-development programs.

“I strongly support this appointment, and know that David Duong will be an outstanding member of the board of the Vietnam Education Foundation.”
