Congresswoman Lee Joins Vice President Harris, Pro-Choice Colleagues in Florida on 50th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade
Tallahassee, FL – Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-12), Co-Chair of the Pro-Choice Caucus, joined Vice President Kamala Harris in Tallahassee, Florida on Sunday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Congresswoman Lee was joined by members of the Florida Congressional delegation as well as other members of the Pro-Choice Caucus.
“Today, we should be celebrating 50 years of progress in the fight for reproductive justice. But in the 8 months since an extremist right-wing Court overturned Roe, abortion bans have caused unprecedented harm to the people of this country. As we mark the first anniversary without Roe, we are fighting to take back our rights. We are fighting for true reproductive freedom and access to care for all people—and the voters have our backs. As Co-Chair of the Pro-Choice Caucus, I stand in solidarity with the people across this nation impacted by these extremist, anti-democratic bans, and vow to continue working to protect our right to bodily autonomy and personal freedom.”
