12th District
California's 12th District represents more than 650,000 people across Alameda County. Our cities include sections of:
- Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland, Piedmont, and San Leandro.
CA-12 holds some of the most diverse and enlightened cities in the state of California. The district has many significant historical legacies within California, from the origin of the free-speech movement in Berkeley to the epicenter of Black activism in Oakland. Beyond this, it also comprises one of the largest ports in the nation, The Port of Oakland, and one of the countries most renowned institutions for public education, the University of California, Berkeley. The district is home to over 53 languages, making it one of the most diverse communities in the country.
