Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-9) announced the release of $11 million in funding for Alameda County from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This award is part of $2 billion in Recovery Act funding to states, local governments and non-profit housing developers, under HUD’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), to spur economic development in hard-hit communities and create jobs.

“These funds will provide a much needed economic boost to our communities in the 9th Congressional District and help us to rebuild and strengthen our blighted neighborhoods,” said Congresswoman Barbara Lee. “I applaud the Obama Administration for continuing to work to provide funding to much needed programs in our communities.”

To date the 9th Congressional District of California has received $608,751,305 in Recovery Act Funds. To learn more about the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, go to www.recovery.gov.
