Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-9) released the following statement regarding the Digital Television (DTV) transition that will take place tomorrow, June 12, 2009.

"In less than 24 hours the Digital TV transition will go into affect," said Congresswoman Lee. "If you have an analog TV set that is not connected to a paid service or do not have a built-in digital tuner you will no longer receive a signal and your television will ‘go dark’. For those that still have questions about the DTV transition and the steps you need to take to ensure that you continue to receive television service, I encourage you visit www.dtv.gov or call 1-800-CALLFCC for help."

The FCC is available to help consumers who need assistance in making the transition to digital broadcast television. The FCC Call Center currently is operating 24 hours a day at full capacity.  In addition, the FCC’s webpage, www.dtv.gov, provides a "one-stop shop" for consumers to locate local vendors and DTV help centers.
