Washington, DC – As part of her investigation of the Tristan Anderson incident, Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) met with Deputy Secretary of State James B. Steinberg and Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Jacob “Jack” Lew where she propounded the following questions:
What is the status of any investigations into this tragic incident conducted by the U.S. State Department and the Government of Israel? When can we expect the investigation to be completed and made public?
What actions, if any, have been taken to determine culpability, if any, and take appropriate corrective actions against those responsible for Mr. Anderson’s injuries?
What actions, if any, have been taken, and what recourse is available to provide relief to Mr. Anderson for the injuries he has sustained?
“My thoughts and prayers continue to be with Tristan Anderson and his family as he continues to recover from these tragic injuries,” said Rep. Lee. “It’s obvious that something went horribly wrong in the Village of Ni’ilin and I am determined to get to the bottom of this tragic incident and have conveyed to the State Department the urgency of providing responses to these questions.”
