Barbara Lee Releases Statement on Earthquake in Chile

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA), released the following statement today after learning of a major earthquake in Chile:

“My thoughts and prayers go out to people of Chile and the Chilean-American community following this devastating earthquake.

“I will continue to monitor the situation in Chile as well as the subsequent tsunami warnings and am committed to working with my colleagues to provide whatever humanitarian assistance is needed.”

President Obama has urged citizens on the West Coast to be prepared as there may be dangerous waves along American shores later today.
