Barbara Lee Responds to Bush Commuting Libby Sentence

Washington, DC - Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) issued the following statement in response to President Bush's announcement that he had commuted the sentence of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby:

"President Bush's decision to commute the sentence of Scooter Libby for his role in covering up the deliberate exposure of the identity of an undercover CIA operative is what we have come to expect from an administration that has consistently shown more interest in protecting its own than protecting the nation."
