Barbara Lee Responds to North Korean Missile Tests

(Washington, DC) – Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-Oakland) released the following statement in response to North Korea’s decision to break a seven year old unilateral moratorium and test fire seven missiles on Tuesday:

"I join with people in the United States and around the world in condemning North Korea's provocative actions. When they break their international commitments, as they did in this case, they only undermine their credibility in the world and further isolate their nation.

"North Korea's actions serve to underline the importance of the international community being united against the proliferation of weapons and weapons technology, and the danger of agreements like the proposed India-nuclear deal, which undermine international standards of non-proliferation, and make it that much harder to hold countries like North Korea and Iran to account.”
