Congresswoman Barbara Lee and Former Congressman Ronald V. Dellums To Be Honored at East Bay Conversion and Reinvestment Commission’s Ten-Year Anniversary Gala Dinner

Oakland, CA – Congresswoman Barbara Lee and Former Congressman Ronald V. Dellums will be honored at the East Bay Conversion and Reinvestment Commission’s (EBCRC) 10-Year Anniversary Gala Dinner on Saturday, February 8 at the Hilton Oakland Airport. A reception, silent auction, and art sale will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and program at 7 p.m. Both Congresswoman Lee and Congressman Dellums will be on hand for the event.

The non-profit EBCRC will also pay special tribute to Wanda Anita Green, Senior Flight Attendant on United Flight 93, for her courage and heroism on September 11, 2001.

Congressman Dellums founded the EBCRC in 1993 as part of an attempt to help communities recover from the impacts of military base closure. Sine her election to Congress in 1998, Congresswoman Lee has carried forward the commitment to help East Bay communities convert closed military bases into new uses, including housing for very low and low-to-moderate income families, as well as new businesses. Last year, Lee played a key role in the transformation of the former Oak Knoll Naval Hospital into housing.

"I am honored that the EBCRC will be recognizing me," said Lee. "I have long respected the work that Dave Wilson and the EBCRC have done, and I look forward to continue working with them as we transform vacated buildings and institutions into the building blocks of our society for decades to come."
