Congresswoman Barbara Lee Marks Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Heritage Month
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Barbara Lee today released the following statement marking the beginning of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month:
“I join my colleagues in celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by commemorating the contributions and achievements of the Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities in the East Bay and across our country.
“As a member of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) and co-chair of the CAPAC Health Care Task Force, I will continue fighting to advance equality, justice, and equal opportunities and work to address the disproportionate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. This month and every month, we must also take a stand against the tragic violence and discrimination that we have witnessed in our communities.
“I am proud of the efforts of organizations in the East Bay that support and uplift the Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. I look forward to continuing my work alongside our my colleagues in Congress and the Biden Administration to provide support and fight for justice.”
