Congresswoman Barbara Lee Releases Statement on Shameless Senate Republican Blockade of Biden Administration Appointments
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-12), senior member of the House Appropriations Committee and Congressional Representative to the United Nations, released the following statement on reports of Senate Republicans blocking critical Biden administration nominees as political retribution on behalf of Donald Trump.
“I remain undeterred in my duty as Democratic Congressional Representative to the UN General Assembly. This is just the latest example of extremist Republicans punitively blocking critical appointments all in the name of political retribution for their leader, Donald Trump. It’s shameful, but sadly not surprising. As a Black woman and a senior member of Congress, I know what it’s like to be attacked from the right - as countless others do too. It’s happened my entire career, and it won’t stop me now.”
