Congresswoman Lee Awarded National Medical Association's Scroll of Merit
Congresswoman Lee issued the following statement upon receiving the National Medical Association’s Scroll of Merit:
Washington, DC – “I am deeply honored to receive the Scroll of Merit award from the National Medical Association whose president, my constituent and friend, Dr. Michael Lenoir, has led the organization forward in meeting the challenges and opportunities of the Affordable Care Act.
Since its founding in 1895, the NMA has advanced health equity and access for the African American and all undeserved communities. African American physicians have worked tirelessly for quality healthcare, oftentimes at great personal sacrifice.
I thank the NMA for this tremendous honor and for your dedication to affordable, accessible and quality healthcare for all. I look forward to our continuing work to address health disparities and health equity with the NMA leading the way.”
