Congresswoman Lee on the Passing of Anne Taylor

Oakland, CA— Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee released the following statement upon the passing of friend and colleague, Anne Taylor:

“Words cannot express my sadness as we mourn the untimely death of our beloved Anne Taylor. She served as my district director, but more importantly, was a trusted and loving friend.

“Anne's contributions to the residents of the East Bay were enormous. With true compassion and commitment, she touched the lives of thousands of people. Not only was she a true public servant and phenomenal woman, she was deeply passionate about her community, Alameda, where she loved the 4th of July parade, and the Alameda Point Antique fair.

“Our deepest condolences go out to Anne's daughters, Eleanore and Grace Guenon, and to her entire family, whom she loved deeply. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during these difficult days.

“My staff, our community, and I will miss Anne tremendously. Her strength, wisdom, and intellect permeated through all her work and all our lives. May her spirit continue to soar, and her memory held close to our hearts. May her soul rest in peace.”
