Congresswoman Lee to Attend 40th Anniversary Celebration of the UC Berkeley's African-American Studies Department

OAKLAND – Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-Oakland) will attend the 40th Anniversary Reception and Cultural Celebration for the University of California, Berkeley’s Department of African American Studies on Friday, April 9, 2010 at 7 p.m. The event to commemorate the founding of the department will be held at the Oakland African-American Museum and Library at 659 14th Street, Oakland, CA.

Congresswoman Lee will provide brief remarks before presenting faculty members and department heads with a Certificate of Congressional Recognition.
