Congresswoman Lee Welcomes the SBA Administrator to the East Bay

Oakland, CA – Today, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator and Cabinet member, Maria Contreras-Sweet visited the East Bay.

“I would like to welcome Administrator Contreras-Sweet to the East Bay and thank her for her remarkable work to promote small businesses,” said Congresswoman Barbara Lee. “As a former small business owner, I know that women, minority and LGBT-owned businesses are critical assets to the economic growth and empowerment of our community. I am glad to see Administrator Contreras-Sweet come to the East Bay to support these businesses and encourage greater supply chain diversity. I look forward to continuing to work with Administrator Contreras-Sweet to support small businesses, the engines of our economy, and increased diversity, especially in the tech sector.”

During the Administrator’s visit to the Bay area, she launched the new SBA partnership focused on LGBT-owned businesses, discussed supply chain and supplier diversity and discussed available SBA resources with women business owners and community leaders.
