MEDIA ADVISORY: Congresswoman Barbara Lee to Receive Awards and Participate in Panels During the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference
Washington, D.C. – This week, Congresswoman Barbara Lee will participate in the Congressional Black Caucus’s Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) and other external events, where she will receive several notable awards for her many years of leadership on civil rights, tech diversity and other issues. These awards include the CBC Woman of the Year Award from the Sojourner Truth Legacy Project and the Action & Authority Award from the National Action Network. Congresswoman Lee will also join Bishop Dr. Keith L. Clark for the House of Representatives opening prayer this Friday.
Additionally, Congresswoman Lee is scheduled to participate in several ALC panels as an honorary co-host, including panels on the UN Decade of African Descent, ending HIV/AIDS stigma and discrimination, and establishing restorative justice in the legal cannabis industry.
