Oakland – Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-09) is pleased to announce that Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke will hold a White House Community Forum on Responsible Fatherhood and Economic Stability on Friday, February 26, 2010 at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center located at 388 Ninth Street, Oakland, CA. The forum will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
The forum is a key component of President Barack Obama’s national conversation on responsible fatherhood and community involvement. The dialogue explores how individuals, families, community organizations and government can work together to strengthen fathers and families and address the challenge of absent fathers in America.
During the forum, Secretary Locke will discuss successes and challenges faced by fathers. He will also explore responsible fatherhood initiatives in New England and father engagement as a strategy for boosting positive economic outcomes for the community.
