Congresswoman Barbara Lee Issues Statement on Southern Sudan Referendum

Washington, DC - Today ahead of the January 9, 2011 referendum on self-determination for Southern Sudan, Congresswoman Lee released the following statement:
 
"As the voting process gets underway this weekend in Sudan, I call on all parties to work together to ensure a peaceful, orderly, and legitimate election process that allows the will of the Sudanese people to be fully expressed."
