Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) has just learned that the Patsy Mink Memorial TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) Reauthorization Act has been accepted by the House Rules Committee as a substitute amendment to the Republican welfare bill. Lee and Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) reintroduced legislation that had been a hallmark of the late Congresswoman Patsy Mink’s legislative career.
