Congresswoman Barbara Lee Releases Video Marking National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee, co-chair and co-founder of the bipartisan and bicameral Congressional HIV/AIDS Caucus released this video marking National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.

 

 

Since entering Congress, Congresswoman Lee has authored or co-authored every major piece of HIV/AIDS legislation.  In the 114th Congress, she has introduced the REPEAL HIV Discrimination Act (H.R. 1586), to advance efforts to repeal discriminatory HIV/AIDS laws, and the Real Education for Healthy Youth Act (H.R. 1706), to ensure that all young people have access to medically-accurate, age-appropriate and comprehensive health education.

Congresswoman Lee is a member of the Appropriations and Budget Committees, the Steering and Policy Committee, is a Senior Democratic Whip, former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus and co-chair of the Progressive Caucus. She serves as chair of the Whip’s Task Force on Poverty and Opportunity.
