Congresswoman Lee Applauds Appointment of Berkeley Pastor Michael McBride to President’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships
“I applaud the appointment of Pastor Michael McBride to serve on the President’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnership. Pastor McBride is a strong spiritual leader in the East Bay who is deeply committed to empowering urban communities and is a champion for social and racial justice,” said Congresswoman Lee. “I congratulate Pastor McBride on this well-deserved appointment and I know his expertise will be a wonderful addition to the President’s Advisory Council.”
Pastor McBride has served as the senior pastor of The Way Christian Center in Berkeley, California since 2005. He has served as the Vice President of the San Jose/Silicon Valley NAACP and the Co-Chair of the Racial Justice Coalition of California. From 2009 to 2011, he served as the Executive Director of Berkeley Organizing Congregations for Action, an organizing federation within the PICO (People Improving Communities through Organizing) National Network. Currently, Pastor McBride is the Director of the Urban Strategies and LIVE FREE Campaigns at PICO.
