Congresswoman Barbara Lee to Join the International Trade Administration and Economic Administration to Promote California Exports and Job Creation

OAKLAND - Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-09) on Friday, April 9, 2010 will join Congressman Pete Stark (CA-13), officials from the Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA) and Economic Development Administration (EDA), along with regional business, government and labor leaders to discuss strategies to promote California exports and create jobs at the Manufacturing, Exports and Job Creation in the New Economy Forum at the Ohlone College Newark Center, located at 39399 Cherry Street, Newark, CA. at 8 a.m.
The one-day conference is hosted by ITA’s U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service and will explore how Silicon Valley innovation can drive new job creation; identify strategies for preparing the workforce for the 21st Century, and discuss strategies to promote exports and create well-paying jobs. The conference will highlight the President’s National Export Initiative. Congresswoman Barbara Lee will offer opening remarks at the conference at approximately 8:30 a.m.
