Congresswoman Lee Announces Funding for West Oakland Health Council

Oakland, CA – Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee announced continued federal funding for West Oakland Health Council (WOHC).  The Health Resource and Service Administration (HRSA) will continue supporting WOHC under their U.S. Public Health Service grant.

“I am pleased that West Oakland Health Council will continue receiving this important federal funding. WOHC serves more than 21,000 individuals each year, and it provides critical care and directly addresses the significant health disparities in our community,” said Congresswoman Barbara Lee.

“I am very optimistic about HRSA’s decision to continue its funding to West Oakland Health Council, continuity of care is critical to the community.  This is an important opportunity for all of us to work together to make sure that WOHC is positioned to be a strong and thriving resource well into the future,” said Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson.
