Congresswoman Lee to Serve on Three Appropriations Subcommittees
Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee announced she will serve on three subcommittees of the House Appropriations Committee.
She will serve on the subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs (SFOPS), the subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Relations Agencies (MilCon/VA) and the subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies (Labor-HHS).
“I am honored to serve on these key subcommittees that allocate funds for critical programs including veterans services, public health, education, workforce training, military construction, the State Department and foreign and development assistance,” said Congresswoman Lee.
Congresswoman Lee will be the only female member of the MilCon/VA subcommittee.
“As the daughter of a Lieutenant Colonel, it is an honor to serve on the military construction and veterans affairs funding subcommittee. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure our nation keeps our promise to our veterans,” added Congresswoman Lee. “The East Bay has a large veteran community and I plan to fight for them and all our nation’s veterans to ensure the needed resources are available and accessible to our veterans.”
