Congresswoman Lee Celebrates Warriors’ NBA Championship

Oakland, CA – Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee joined the Bay Area in celebrating the NBA Championship victory of the Golden State Warriors and the return of the O’Brien trophy to Oakland. She participated in today’s parade and released the following statement:

“This morning, I am excited to join the entire Bay Area in celebrating the tremendous victory of our hometown Golden State Warriors in the NBA finals.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Steve Kerr and leadership of NBA MVP Stephen Curry, the team had a remarkable season and brought back the championship to Oakland after 40 years.  The entire team showed true dedication to hard work and unity, both on and off the court.

As a proud member of Dub Nation, I know that the Warriors’ loyal and faithful fans showed unwavering support for our team and were pivotal in clinching the trophy.

I have no doubt that this remarkable team will go down in Oakland history along with other champion teams including the Oakland Athletics and the Oakland Raiders.

Go Warriors! Go Oakland! Go Dub Nation!”

As to friendly the wager with Congresswoman Marcia Fudge (D-OH), Congresswoman Lee added, “While the Cleveland Cavaliers had a phenomenal season and played well in the finals, I look forward to enjoying Cleveland’s finest chocolates, peanuts and pastries from my good friend Congresswoman Fudge.”
