Lee Releases Statement in Honor of Hispanic Heritage Month

WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) issued the following statement today in observance of Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed from September 15 to October 15:  

“Every year, Americans honor Hispanic Heritage Month to commemorate the remarkable and immeasurable contributions that Latinos have made to our nation.  I have the privilege of serving a vibrant and dynamic community of Latinos who live in my 9th Congressional District of California. Their record of achievement in every facet of our richly diverse community is truly remarkable.  For generations, Hispanic American intellectuals, writers, artists, workers, activists, teachers, entrepreneurs, and leaders have enriched our nation as they worked to achieve the American dream. 

“As a member of the Tri-Caucus, which is made up of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC), the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), I am a proud and vocal advocate for the Latino community and all communities of color who will benefit from our efforts to expand opportunity and promote prosperity for all.  It is with gratitude that I honor Hispanic Heritage Month, and with excitement I anticipate the future strides Hispanic Americans will make for our nation.”

Congresista Barbara Lee Hace Declaración Honrando El Mes De La Herencia Hispana

WASHINGTON D.C. – La Congresista Barbara Lee (D-CA) hizo la siguiente declaración en observación del Mes de la Herencia Hispana, que se observa desde el 15 del septiembre hasta el 15 de octubre: 

 “Cada año, los estadounidenses honran el Mes de la Herencia Hispana durante el cual se conmemoran las contribuciones notables e inconmensurables que han hecho los latinos en esta nación.  Tengo el privilegio de representar una comunidad vibrante y dinámica de latinos que viven en mi Distrito Congresional. Sus logros en cada faceta de nuestra diversa comunidad son realmente extraordinarios.  Durante generaciones, los intelectuales, escritores, artistas, trabajadores, activistas, profesores, emprendedores y líderes hispanoamericanos han enriquecido nuestra nación mientras que han seguido trabajando para conseguir el sueño americano.
