Rep. Lee: “Computer Science for All Is Vital to Our Children's Futures”

Oakland, CA - Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee released this statement applauding the President's bold announcement calling for computer science education for all to secure our children's futures and American economic competitiveness:

"Today, President Obama ‎called for bold action to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn the computer skills necessary for success. This is essential to ensuring all kids have a bright future and America remains a strong competitor in the global marketplace.

I'm glad that so many non-profits, foundations, educators, and tech companies are working to make this a reality for many East Bay students and all kids around our nation.

As a member of the education funding subcommittee and co-chair of the Congressional Black Caucus's TECH 2020 Initiative, I'll fight to ensure the needed resources so every child has the opportunity to learn the computer skills necessary to secure their futures‎."
